Biography of acoustic guitartist Tony Cox

He was born in Zimbabwe in 1954 but moved to South Africa in the late 1960s. Next month we commence a series of re-issues that highlight the career of the Steel String Guitar virtuoso Tony Cox . 'The World Went Quiet is his most recent release and is essentially a self-penned, instrumental album that includes three vocal tracks. Tony produced and recorded all tracks at home in the depth of the Covid Pandemic ' .  The re-issue date is  - 18th October 2024      Here a press release text from the artist - The World Went Quiet came about during the Covid shutdown when we were all told to stay at home and not hug or touch each other. I hunkered down in a tiny room in Gainsborough, UK and poured myself into this little album.  It was a strange time and we lost so many people who were close to our family. The album reflects these times but does not dwell there.  I put in quite a bit of heavy groove and jumpy stuff to keep your foot tapping, and even humour.
