Lesley Rae Dowling - Morocco, it'll draw ya.

Vivid lyrics and precise piano lines. When Lesley Rae Dowling (LRD) first played this song to her producer, Terence (Tully) McCullagh, he was not sure if she had recently been on holiday to this mystical North African land, or if she was travelling in a fantasy world.  Lesley is an avid reader and she could have come up with the images she paints, inspired by her literary pastime. View of Rabat looking towards the Atlantic (c) P Lee-Thorp To create this new version he has remixed the original tracks together with new instrumental takes and delivered, Morocco, it'll draw ya.   Actually in typical LRD style, she gave most of her songs one word names. Even her signature song, which we know as The Spaniard. She registered it simply as, Spaniard!  This song is thus, Morocco , but we have added the little catch phrase from her lyrics to differentiate it from the first release version. The track will be streamed on all platforms from the 10th July 2020. Lesley's striking

Funk feels so right - Critical Quartet Experience

The spirit of James Brown and George Clinton have been caught in this time capsule.  The French funk merchants, Critical Quartet Experience have come up with a soulful and punchy edit of a track from their debut album. This will be their first single, I Never Felt So Right. It is slated for release on 6th June 2020 on all platforms, for download and streaming. L toR Arthur, Hugo, Kevin and Jonathan (c) CQE 2019 You could be forgiven for thinking that this is a boy band at first glance, but that is way off the mark. The four young men who started this outfit about three years ago are all accomplished jazzmen. The single takes inspiration from Soul and R&B aces like James Brown and George Clinton with a little jazz improvisation added. On the single musicians are -   Arthur Dardennes: Vocals and guitar,  Hugo Brun: Keys,  Kevin Mesples: Bass guitar,  Jonathan Rolland: Drums. They have shot a clip for the song too. It is a good time romp through the French countryside.

Oh, My Love - Lesley Rae Dowling - remix 2020

A second look at earlier work. The project to re-animate some of the best songs by Lesley Rae Dowling continues with the re-mix of  - Oh, My Love - a track from her debut album from 1981. The original production somehow did not manage to uncover the full extent of the songwriting or her vocal performance. The new version has turned the song around. Slated for download and streaming on the 22nd of May 2020, this is the third of the 2020 re-mix project releases of Lesley's songs undertaken by Terence McCullagh. He is the original producer of the first release of this song. Music Links below. LRD circa 1984, (c) Songwrights Publishers iTunes -  Stream or download Youtube - Music track Spotify - Stream
