Chirkutt - Lisbon to Dhaka

Inspired from the singer and songwriter, Sharmin Sultana Sumi's recent tour to Europe and WOMEX 2021, Chirkutt, the global music band from Bangladesh has launched a four single recording project. These series of songs represents the stories of compassion, love, faith and excitement that Sumi herself experienced during the trip.

The second of the four singles has the theme of what she loved about the city and the people of Portugal. As she wonders through the streets, exploring the culture and the scenic beauty of one of the oldest cities of Europe, Lisbon, she hums the words for this song and wishes it to be a "Chirkutt" (a short letter) to the people living there.

The band has launched the single with a Music Video to go along with the recording that was released on YouTube through their own channel, Chirkutt Official. The music video for the song Lisbon is a great summation of the whole band enjoying making the song.

The release is officially available on all platforms on the 15th March 2022 and is released world-wide on the world music label Mountain Records.

Issued by the Band Chirkutt.

McCully/Mackay Prog Rock project

Terence McCullagh aka. Tully McCully, has pulled in keyboard specialist Gordon Mackay to partner with him on his first solo album.  Tully and Gordon have performed together in McCully Workshop, but what they are offering this time is very different to the sort of music they do in their band.  Tully started out recording this new material on his own and then saw that it would be appropriate to have an instrument that is featured in solos and special parts of the songs. Tully is a multi-instrumentalist with bass and guitar being his specialities.   Adding Gordon, who is  classically schooled and a  virtuoso electric keyboard player, provided just the right additional elements required for the musical style they are recording.
