Chirkutt single double pack

Bangla Folk/rock outfit CHIRKUTT are a busy unit. They seem to be constantly on the road but thanks to their tie up with a sound studio they can also have a steady output of recordings.

The band's comments on Khalash -

Khalash is another magical song from the contemporary folk tale album Maati Geeti. The lyrics, melody and vocals are by the band’s only female lead, Sharmin Sultana Sumi, along with Pavel Areen at Drums and percussion, Emon Chowdhury at Guitar, Jahid Nirob at Harmonium and Newaj at Bass. The song is a beautiful love tale of the natural ordinary lives of people living in Bangladesh in contrast with the dreams they are pursuing everyday for a better living. The song speaks of the human sole and how it seeks to be free and with someone who understands. Through the lyrics of Sumi, the song taps into the human emotions, the one of belongingness.

And on Buka Buka -

BUKA BUKA is the latest folk fusion from Chirkutt, the Global Bangladeshi band. The song is of love and the craving for belongingness found in the all lives of Bangladesh. The languages used in the songs are also the native words of love and romanticism spread across all over the country of Bangladesh. Mix together as one, the whole song connects to the youth and their ever green concept of love.

McCully/Mackay Prog Rock project

Terence McCullagh aka. Tully McCully, has pulled in keyboard specialist Gordon Mackay to partner with him on his first solo album.  Tully and Gordon have performed together in McCully Workshop, but what they are offering this time is very different to the sort of music they do in their band.  Tully started out recording this new material on his own and then saw that it would be appropriate to have an instrument that is featured in solos and special parts of the songs. Tully is a multi-instrumentalist with bass and guitar being his specialities.   Adding Gordon, who is  classically schooled and a  virtuoso electric keyboard player, provided just the right additional elements required for the musical style they are recording. Gordon is the brother of well known rock musician, Duncan Mackay, who made a name for himself in the UK in the 1980s, notably with the band...

Here is a press release from the artist management. > Ocean Motion was Robin Auld and Z-Astaire's 2nd album for the band line-up.  Produced in 1985 by Kevin Shirley in Cape Town for Mountain Records, it yielded the number one song All of Woman, along with other top ten songs Sesheke Town and After the Fire .  The band's sound had consolidated after several tours and the release propelled them further into national prominence in their home country of South Africa, playing big shows country wide and confirming them as one of the countries top rock music acts.  The album also showcased the  wider influences of the band and Auld's songwriting in songs such as " Village is a house " and " ...
