Probably the most commercially successful of his early records, Ocean Motion is Robin Auld & Z-Astaire's second and Auld's third album.

Ocean Motion was Robin Auld and Z-Astaire's 2nd album for the band line-up.

Produced in 1985 by Kevin Shirley in Cape Town for Mountain Records, it yielded the number one song All of Woman, along with other top ten songs Sesheke Town and After the Fire.

The band's sound had consolidated after several tours and the release propelled them further into national prominence in their home country of South Africa, playing big shows country wide and confirming them as one of the countries top rock music acts.

The album also showcased the wider influences of the band and Auld's songwriting in songs such as "Village is a house" and "Walking the wheel". A welcome release of this bands diverse catalogue!

McCully/Mackay Prog Rock project

Terence McCullagh aka. Tully McCully, has pulled in keyboard specialist Gordon Mackay to partner with him on his first solo album. Tully and Gordon have performed together in McCully Workshop, but what they are offering this time is very different to the sort of music they do in their band. Tully started out recording this new material on his own and then saw that it would be appropriate to have an instrument that is featured in solos and special parts of the songs. Tully is a multi-instrumentalist with bass and guitar being his specialities. Adding Gordon, who is classically schooled and a virtuoso electric keyboard player, provided just the right additional elements required for the musical style they are recording.
